Cuteness overload

Hello guys!

So yesterday after the bowl fiasco, I decided to focus on something else.
On pinterest I saw the cutest things made out of wool by needlefelting.
I know how to felt but I never really tried this technique before so I borrowed a needle and started.

I wanted to make something simple so I started to make a cute little ball with ears and paws.
It is a mouse because they are very cute.
I will need soooo much more practice but one day I will post my life like guinea pig I want to make!

Some people can make life like animals and that is so cool!
Sometimes I wonder if they are real?

Did you already made something by using this technique?

Material knowledge

 Hello people!

Yesterday I have finished this bowl made out of old CD's.
It was a long process of cutting CD's, glue them to a wooden frame so it would fit.
It took me some days to get it right.

When the base was good, I was looking for something to cover the cracks and the CD's so they would not be scratched. I used some varnish but it did no go the way I wanted it too..
That is something every artist or DIY will face, it is a learning process and mistakes can be made.
I can use the bowl but it will be a reminder that I should have used another material.
It took me couple hours so it is a shame it is not the best result.

But I really like the idea to use old CD's and make something very shiny of it!
When you are bored, this is a good timekiller!
And when you do it right, it will be stunning!

Have a nice weekend!

Birdie mom

 Hello guys!
Sorry for the delay of new posts, but I was very busy lately!
Good new, I have finished my exam and I passed! So I can study with a relief on my new education!.

Lately I was too busy to make new stuff but me and my mom have saved a little birdie.
Yesterday a little birdie fell out of a nest so we rescued the little guy. We looked after him until the animal ambulance picked him up. He was so adorable!
He was a hungry little guy!
The whole time he was sitting in my hand and he was not afraid, only when I put him in the shoe box he was anxious.
It felt good to take care of such a brittle little life.
It makes me wonder how he is doing now in the bird shelter.

Soon I want to make something creative again but this little guy was so cute so I had to post him ;)

Manly coasters, do they exist?

Hello and welcome again!

Lately we have been working in our garden to build a coop and maintain trees, bushes and everything in it.
So when your tree is growing so big that you cannot walk in your garden anymore, it is time to cut some twigs off. ( sorry mister tree)

So we had a lot of big and little twigs in our shed and I was thinking what to do with them, and this morning I saw the post to make a natural coaster out of twigs. I thought, yes this is it!
It is so easy and even children can make this! I am not so good at building ( maby later when I grow up) so this was perfect!

The end result as you can see, looks very robust and natural!  Perfect for BBQ to put pans/ bowls on to look even more manly ( BBQ is mostly a very manly business with all that meat, flames and beer)
So yes, a manly coaster does exist when you make it tough, and rough around the edges!

And when it is broken , dirty or give it away, you can make another one, and this coaster did not cost me anything! ( except time)

Nature provides!

Creator of creativity

Hello guys!

My blog is all about being creative and making different things ( and being healthy ofcourse)
And this time I want to post something what is deeper than usual. this post is about my spirituality and my beliefs.

I believe that God made this world and everything on it! That makes him the Creator of creativity also. God has put humor, emotion, beauty and emotions in all His creations.
If I look at nature for example, I see God his signature and  I am a big fan!
We have guinea pigs and they are so funny, I think that God made them to be that funny :)

Of course I know there are darker things in this world besides the beautiful ones.
Like the devil, he was also made by God but lucifer choose to disobey.
Just like we have free will, the angels have that option too.
How can we have free will if there is nothing to choose from? The first choice in the garden of Eden was to listen to God or not, and we did not listen to God.
The world now is a fallen one with a lot of corruption and evil things BUT there are still good things on the earth. God still controls the situation and one day the messiah Jesus Christ will return and make things right!.

To come back to God and creativity, God's most awesome design is life itself and the way it functions.
If I look at a human body, it is so intelligently built. Sure we can get sick and die ( that is the curse of this world) but it has amazing abilities like self-repair, making energy, keeps itself warm, very cleaver build in mechanisms ( immune system, brain function). No machine can function the way we can!
It is so beautiful yet complex. The way we are able to function and think, feel, create and choose is what makes us different then animals.
We are made in Gods image so that is why we can make and do so much good things!

I made the cross because I honor our creator and what Jesus has done for us!
Thank you God and Jesus for being our creator and savior :)
He gives me my inspiration for my creativeness
He gives me the drive to keep going even when days are tough.
He is my source of love and forgiveness which I can give to other people.
He changed my heart and desires for the better.
He is AWESOME!

Have a blessed week!

Chronic trouble

Hello and welcome,
I really get the hang of it! I really like to blog and use it as an online medium to show my work.
I want to show you some history of mine to let you know what caused the way I think about food and health nowadays.

A year and a half ago I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease, It really shook my world and the way I lived.
I was so sick that I couldn't eat and keep it in anymore. I was all skin and bones.
I was a heavy smoker and drinker and my diet, yeah I didn't took good care of myself.
After my sickness, I was starting to wonder what I can do myself to make it tolerable to live a normal and happy life. I quit smoking, changed my diet and lately I stopped drinking alcohol completely.
With my diet I avoided: MacDonald, KFC etc. ( only domino's/ pizza once in a while)  Ready to eat meals, sugar products, pork, things out of a pack ( maggie, nestle, cupnoodels) aspartame products ( light products) fizzy drinks ( cola, seven up etc), white breads and pasta ( as much as possible)
and I felt so much better! After a few changes it became more and more ( I did not changed everything at once but step by step). I really love cooking and it tastes yummy to make your own dishes.

Now I am without medication for 6 months now!
And my diet is so much better ( and it will continue) it is packed with fruits, vegetables, less meat, whole wheat products. I was so inspired that I want to be a dietician. Tomorrow I have an exam about dietetics and later this year I will do my main study to be a dietician!.
It feels good to be in control again over my own life, so if you have a disease, you can do something about it! Maby you will like me, go off the meds because you will not need them anymore to be healthy ( consult your doctor before doing it, I consulted my doctor and he said it was safe).

As the artwork, I made that to process the fact that I was sick and there was "something wrong"with me.
( in case you are wondering, it is a interpretation of the small intestine but cute)
Now my intestines are happy again most of the time ;)
It helped me to get over it and after a while I accepted it and now, I barely think about it.
Of course sometimes I am tired or have to run to a bathroom but he,  if that is all ;)

So don't loose hope people! take your life back in control and change it for the better!
God bless you all <3

Smelling homemade

Hello everyone!

Thanks for stopping by! :)
A while ago I was looking for new deodorants to buy and when I looked on Pinterest, I had found what I was looking for! A pin to make your own deodorant! It was quite easy but not so cheap to make.
I used  "thank your body homemade deodorant" and it was fabulous! It really works and it smells very nice!
http://www.thankyourbody.com/homemade-deodorant-stick-recipe-sensitive-skin/
My family uses this deodorant too and they are very content with it.

I really want to make more products like soap, ointments, salves and shampoos!
Now I am hungry for more! Making your own stuff is just so much better because you know what you've put in it ( so less harmful to your body).
Every time I put this deodorant on I feel awesome, knowing it is good for my body.

I made the logo because a plain container is boring, I am a graphic designer, so I have to make it more cool of course.
My husband made the label because it is his job by a big company "forever direct".
Best of our abilities combined, just like a marriage.

Did you guys already made some beauty/ health products by yourself and which one?
I am curious to know which recipes you used and what you thought was a good recipe, so I can try some out!
I already made a lip balm but it is still naked, (no label) The first try it was to hard and the second try was much better ( more info later)
